i've also picked up a new freelance project, which has been taking up some time. as a result, nathan is back in daycare one half day per week. this week was week #2. week #1 was pretty bad. we parked the car at P's house and i went to take him out of his car seat. he refused to walk to her door himself, so i ended up carrying him. the whole way to her door, all he kept saying was "car". then he started crying as soon as she opened the door. thank goodness i remembered to pack his hippo "Stanky" or else it would've been even worse. it was hard leaving him when he was sobbing so much, but you gotta do what you gotta do. then when i went to pick him up later that afternoon, he cried as soon as he saw me. i felt guilty about taking him there again this week, but it's really difficult to get any work done when he's at home. so this week, both ken and i prepped him by telling him that morning that he was going to P's house. his response: "no" or "no way". so we get in the car and drive to her house. as soon as i turn onto her street (just a small "court"-type), nathan throws his head back, legs stiffen, and he erupts into tears. he wants nothing to do with this. again, i carry him to the door. again, i can hear his cries even after the door closes. i was hoping the pick up would be better this week, but another child's mother got to P's house before me and so nathan was already crying before i got there because he thought it would be me at the door. apparently, he was better this week and he doesn't really cry for that long (maybe just a minute?). he's going again this week, so we'll see if the tears diminish any. and note to self: get there before the other kid's mom.
