summer fun

here's a look at some activities we've been doing with nathan so far this summer:

back at the end of june, we took him for his first trip to canada's wonderland. not really sure how much he enjoyed the rides, but we got a 2-day admission ticket, so we're still planning on taking him back for the second trip next month to see if he likes it any better. 

first ride of the day: the swans

he didn't seem to like the carousel too much... pretty much
wanted off the horse as soon as the ride started.

this airplane ride seemed to be a bit of a hit. lots of "whee!"s.

mommy took nathan to the zoo one hot friday morning to try out their splash park. nathan still seems quite apprehensive about these kinds of places. mommy is hoping that he will get more comfortable with it if they go more often. for the most part, nathan kept a safe distance from the water. 

something nathan absolutely loves is bubble time! most of the time, we do bubble time outside in the front yard, but it was kind of hot that day so we stayed indoors.

last weekend we met up with friends and took the ferry over to centre island. centreville seems like it's a better place to bring the under 3 set since you don't have to pay admission, but just buy tickets based on the rides you want to go on. the food is also much cheaper than what wonderland charges. nathan was kind of cranky that day...not sure if it was because he woke up early or because it was really hot out, but he didn't really want to go on any of the rides. instead, he just wanted to sit in his stroller. we still have some tickets left, so we're thinking that we'll probably go again later in the summer and hopefully he'll be feeling more adventurous.
