adventures in parenting: 16 months old

last month seemed to go by in a blur and lo and behold, our boy is now 16 months old. so close to a year and a half! where does the time go? i find myself saying that every month. i think that means i'm getting old. big developments for the last month would be the walking (as shown in yesterday's video). his daycare provider told me today that he's actually taken to running even! nate is definitely starting to show his stubborn side as well. maybe it's the whole starting of the terrible twos, but when he doesn't get his way, he definitely shows you that he's not happy about it. just a couple days ago, i didn't give him something he wanted or said "no"...something along those lines...and he stomped his little foot at me! i actually found it kind of amusing, but had to restrain myself from laughing as not to encourage that kind of behaviour. for the most part though, he's still a well-mannered little boy and is mostly happy. for that, we are grateful!

this past weekend we had some beautiful weather here in toronto, so we went to the park!

nathan made a new friend (who we think might've been named peter...weird name for a dog). he's a golden doodle. so cute and friendly! only 9 months old but 75 lbs. already. thank goodness babies don't grow at the same rate!
