happy canada day!

for canada day this year, the three of us headed up to the mosses for a bbq. nathan is still in his shy phase (or at least we're hoping that it's just a phase!) and it took him about half an hour to warm up to everyone. after that, he seemed happy and was doling out the high fives. pam and trev have a little girl who is about 2 months older than nathan. seems like play dates work out best when the kids are around the same age, though they're still at the stage where they're not *really* playing together, but more like playing beside each other. near the end of the night, both nathan and lauren wandered into the front hall closet and closed the door behind them, which we thought was pretty funny, but of course, if they were preteens, it'd be an entirely different matter. haha

all in all, it was a good canada day. downside is that it was on a thursday and ken had to work the next day. it'll be fun in the next couple of years when nathan is actually able to stay up later to see the fireworks.
