stats @ 19 months

we went to the doctor and she says that there's nothing to be concerned about in terms of the head hitting and that we shouldn't make too big of a fuss over it or he may continue to do it. i've noticed in the last few days, he's kind of stopped doing it as much. i asked his daycare provider if she's ever seen him do it and she hasn't, so it would appear that nathan reserves that very special behaviour for just mommy and daddy.

also, the doctor gave us some tips on putting him to bed and i've been following them for the last five nights. the first three were kind of hard, but not as bad as it's been in the past when we first tried sleep training. now he doesn't cry for nearly as long and doesn't wake up in the middle of the night anymore. hopefully that's here to stay. now, i've just got to work on going to bed earlier myself since nathan still gets up early sometimes (i.e. 6:00 a.m. ... brutal!).

here are his stats for the month:
weight - 23 lbs (10th percentile)
height - 84 cms (50th percentile)
head circ. - 48 cms (50th percentile)

seems to be staying on the same growth curves, so that's good. our lil munchkin definitely doesn't look like he's underweight, but apparently he is, according to the charts. he has his off days where he eats barely anything, but then he usually makes up for it the following day. he seems to be going through a weird phase right now where all his past favourites are no longer favourites. he'll put food in his mouth and then promptly spit it back out. usually this is meat. maybe he's a vegetarian. the alarming thing is when he started doing it with raisins (a nathan diet staple!), but that seems to have passed and he's back on raisins again. this doctor's visit involved two immunization needles again. of course, cried/hollered/screamed like crazy, but didn't take too long to settle afterwards. and with no hard feelings towards the nurse as he still gave her a high five and blew her a kiss before we left the office. fortunately, no side effects this time around. no more doctor's visits until december and no more shots until he's four years old. yay!
