20 months old

 

our lil boy sure loves his corn! (obviously taken prior to haircut)

our boy is 20 months old! just four more months and he'll be two! where the heck does the time go? we haven't weighed him yet, but he definitely feels heavier (or i'm getting weaker). he's eating a lot better, but he's being quite stubborn about self-feeding. often he won't want us to feed him, but would prefer to feed himself and emphatically says "no!" when we try to spoon something in his mouth. of course, this makes for messy feedings since he's still not proficient with the spoon and fork. i think i just have to let the mess go for the sake of his learning and not worry about it too much. he's still very active. wants to climb everywhere, run everywhere... lately he seems in such a hurry to get anywhere that his head will get ahead of his feet — and since his head is most of his body weight — and then he'll end up falling down. lots of knee scraps this month and bonks to the head, but nothing major. some new words this month include please, more, and grapes...but no luck getting him to string those three together.  :o)

lots of fun with our lil guy. we're hoping to get out to centre island later this month for some biking. we're trying to slowly build up the amount of time he spends in the bike trailer. if only he didn't have to wear a helmet in there, he'd probably be able to tolerate it more.
