teething is no fun

so now nate has two bottom teeth which have come out almost halfway. this has really seemed to bother him in the last few days. sleep is interrupted and there are many more tears than usual. we normally console him by holding him and walking around, but lately, even these don't work. he just seems unconsolable. i don't know if teething gets any better from here. to top it all off, at the majority of his feeds today, he has bitten me. maybe his teeth are really bothering him? at any rate, if this biting habit continues, i don't know how i'll continue to feed him. we've been trying to train him back on the bottle, but it seems like a lost cause. maybe we'll go straight to the cup.

this past wednesday, we had his 6 month check-up where he received his third round of shots. that might also be contributing to his cranky behaviour. besides having to endure the shots again, he seems to be doing well health-wise. he weighed in at 7.6 kg (16.75 lbs) and measured at 67.5 cm (26.5"). he seems to be growing steadily along the 50th percentile curve. his weight is a little under, but that might have been due to his illness. the doctor also said that we can add to his diet of solid foods, so i'll be starting him on veggies and fruit in the next week or so.

in mommy-related news, i started booty camp this week. it's been quite tough so far, but then again, i haven't really worked out in a year. my quads are so sore, which make the treks up and down the stairs with nate a bit challenging. hopefully eight weeks of this will give me more energy so that i can keep up with him when he starts to toddle around.
