today we attended the 18th annual NICU pee wee picnic. it was a beautiful afternoon to be outside. there were many activities at the picnic, but nathan was too young to enjoy any of them. we didn't see too many people from our couple of weeks in the NICU, but it was nice just to see so many healthy kids running around. we are so grateful to the nurses and doctors at the NICU at North York General Hospital. they took such good care of our boy for the first 2.5 weeks of his life. the nurses taught us so much. it was like we had a two week private lesson on taking care of a newborn. though the circumstances surrounding nathan's birth were not ideal, the silver lining in all of it was all the help we had in the beginning as we adjusted to being parents. the nurses definitely made the transition go a bit smoother. thanks, nurses!
