our boy is 10 months today. and just to signal how close i am to going back to work, i was back at work today! i was freelancing for half the day, helping out on a book ad campaign that they're currently working on. it was weird being back in the office. i was feeling a bit nervous during the start of the day...feeling like i didn't remember how to do anything anymore, but after an hour, i got into the groove of things. nathan hung out with my mom at her place until i was done. he even took a good 2-hour nap while i was away. when i returned, i expected a big smile...but alas, no smile to be had. i must admit that i was disappointed that he didn't even seem glad to see me again after more than five hours away. he gives smiles to strangers, but no smile for mama? sheesh! i think i'm the one who'll have to deal with separation anxiety when it comes time for me to leave him.
