adjusting to school

so overall nathan has been adjusting well to his new school routine. last week, ken was off on thursday so he decided to join us in the morning drop-off. even though nathan didn't cry when i left him there on tuesday morning, since daddy was coming with us for the first time, i guess he decided that the needed to put on a show for him. i had a feeling this might happen. when we tried to leave him there, he burst into tears as he had during the first week.

this week, it was back to just mommy doing the drop off and thankfully, the crying also went away. tuesday he seemed a bit teary, but he was ok. just sat himself on the bench for a while. apparently the bench is soothing to him. even the teacher mentioned that. LOL when i picked him up, he was back to waiting by the gate for me. then today, i had to wake him up and we had to rush out the door to get to school. we were a couple minutes late and he had to eat his breakfast in the stroller, but it was definitely the best drop-off yet. though he said "no" when i said we were going to school, when we got there, i took him out of his stroller and he walked straight into the classroom and started playing immediately. he kind of looked up when i said goodbye, but there were no tears or even teary looks. success! then when i went to pick him up in the afternoon, i saw them coming back from a walk. he looked so grown up following the teacher and holding on to the rope. it was too cute so of course, i had to quickly snap a pic with my iphone. one of the teachers even commented to me that nathan had a really good day. yay! hopefully this is just the start of more good times to come.
