ken had his last day at ML this past friday and before he starts his new gig at BMO, we thought it would be nice to have a week hanging out together as a family. it has been so nice to have him home. i'm definitely going to miss it when he starts his new job on monday.so we have a lot of activities planned for this week. don't know if we'll manage to do them all. yesterday we went to marineland with the tsuis. it had been the first time in probably two decades that we've (the parents) been. we all took one car down to niagara and followed the GPS to this long concrete structure. we had totally forgotten how ghetto marineland looks. i think we must've all thought "this can't be marineland," but it was! the park is so big, yet there are few attractions and rides. between each section of rides is an incredibly long forested path. it was exhausting. anyway, our first stop was deer park. as you can see from the photo on the left, ken was hoping nathan could ride one.
from there we went to the sea lion/seal/dolphin show. i don't think nathan noticed any of it. i guess he's still too young? he basically spent the bulk of the show looking off to the side at other people while sucking his thumb. ethan, on the other hand, seemed to enjoy it. well at least he was watching.
we ended our day at the park with a visit to Arctic Cove where you can experience a "Beluga Encounter". for $8 you can pet and feed a beluga whale. we thought we should do it since we were already there and it didn't seem too pricey compared to the $40 entrance fee. nathan was asleep the entire time in the baby carrier. we thought it would be cool to have a photo of him with a beluga whale though so we thought, let's just wake him up for a quick photo. see photo at left for the results. hahahah we're such mean parents.anyway, i think that'll be it for marineland. can't really see ourselves ever going again, so sorry to any future kids we might have. we'll just have to satisfy their desire to see marine mammals by going some place else. seaworld, maybe?

C$40??? That's ridiculous. That amount of money will allow me to survive for a week in Rocinha. 2kg bag of oranges. C$0.75. I don't know what I'm going to do with all these oranges.
